WHY YOU SHOULD MAKE TIME TO HAVE FAMILY PHOTOS

Family Photos! Some people love it and have it yearly sessions and some people just don’t like being in front of the camera. For good or bad reasons they serve a purpose to capture a moment in time for us to look back and reminiscence.

As as young boy i’ve always gravitated to looking back into my dad or grand parent’s photo album. Those silver halide photo prints with white borders stuck onto clear transparent film that holds the photos onto the album. Flipping through all these photos gave me nostalgia and made me cherish these memories. I can still recognise the chemical smell of fixer.

These days we store thousands and thousands of photos every year in our phone, tablet, laptops and other storage devices but we rarely the same feeling it gave me when looking thru them on these devices and also holding them was another element of nostalgia.

I’m a strong believer of having family photos. It doesn’t have to be a routine but having some record of a point in time of your family gives it some comfort and bond. Additionally having something printed as a photo or a canvas on the wall to display at home helps you showcase these memories to others and its always a good conversation piece which i treasure compared to visiting a friends place where there is no photos on wall and instead of catching up with friends everyone is on their devices not communicating.

The family session images on this article was recently captured at Hyde Park. The family session only took around 1hr which is a very relaxing and fun session with our photographers.

Potentially these photos can be used for:

  1. Photobook

  2. Framed prints

  3. Canvas

  4. Acrylic wall prints

  5. Gifts for parents
