SETTING AMBITIOUS GOALS

Why should you be striving to achieve ambitious goals? We are all for setting SMART objectives, but we also see value in setting yourself ambitious goals. Here’s why!

To Improve and Better Yourself

Setting high goals means that you commit yourself to ongoing improvement and to better yourself. It helps to shift your perspective and increase your confidence in decision making. If you don’t step outside of your comfort zone and challenge yourself, you cannot shift your paradigm and open a box of unlimited possibilities.

Achieve the impossible… or The unexpected

Many of us often restrict ourselves to a bubble and don’t try to break out of it or do something ambitious. Things like fear, the feeling of limitations or just life getting in the way can often discourage people from wanting to pursue their big dreams. It’s all so easy to say, “that’s too hard.” But what if there were no limits? Things always seem impossible until you achieve them, and then they aren’t so impossible anymore! Nothing comes easily or without a bit of struggle. But the most challenging goals are the most rewarding ones.

The reward at the end of the struggle

Through our journey at Iceberg Media, we’ve definitely had our far share of taking risks and challenges. More recently, we pitched a crazy and ambitious idea to our team during the pandemic called FoodTunes. This was unlike anything we had done before! We set out to organise and run it with less than a month of preparation (crazy, I know!). Andrea, the Chief Cinematographer and Editor of Iceberg Media, pitched it to the team and they were keen to take onboard the challenge. We set our goals and gave ourselves deadlines.

Throughout the whole experience, their was uncertainty of how successful we were going to be with it. And that was ok! When we launched our live FoodTunes event, we had so many people in Perth tune in over dinner time for live entertainment to support local talents and the food industry, affected by COVID-19. We had an amazing outcome and achieved something that we had never done before. We had it in our mindset that we were going to do it and do it well, and it worked! We knew how challenging it was from start to end, and that’s why the feeling of accomplishing our goals was so rewarding!

The best part about achieving impossible goals is that you can start setting new ones. You unlock this feeling of unlimited potential. Use this drive to help you achieve your end goals and climb up the ladder, one step at a time.

Quote of the Week: "We choose to go to the moon in this decade.. not because [it is] easy, but because [it is] hard, because that goal will serve to organize and measure the best of our energies and skills, because that challenge is one that we are willing to accept, one we are unwilling to postpone, and one which we intend to win."
