HAPPY HALLOWEEN
Do you celebrate Halloween?
Halloween is believed the be the one night where the barriers between the living and the dead break down. It dates back more than 2,000 years ago with the festival of Samhain.
Even if you don’t celebrate the festivity, you can’t help but take notice of the themed decorations, costumes and aisles of delicious treats at the shops.
There’s no doubt Halloween is a great excuse to get some lollies and chocolate, socialise and dress up.
But why do we dress up for Halloween?
Typically speaking, people would dress up in costumes to ward off ghosts. I am not a fan of masks…at all! They are just scary and I hate not knowing who’s under the mask. But there is a clever reason masks were typically worn on Halloween. When people left their homes at night, they would put on their masks to make the ghosts think they were fellow spirits. Smart thinking!
However, some of the masks that you see on the shop floor are quite scary and realistic. So, it wouldn’t surprise me if it’s not only the ghosts the masks are scaring away.
Halloween gives you the freedom to be as creative as you want with your costume. From the makeup, hair, outfit and persona you take on, you can have a bit of fun and be creative whether you dress up as a clown, nurse, ghost or skeleton.
Have a safe and enjoyable Halloween!
