HOW ICEBERG MEDIA CELEBRATED CHRISTMAS

Do you want to know how we celebrated Christmas with the Iceberg Media Team? If you’ve had the opportunity to meet us or work with us, you’ve probably learnt we love to talk, eat food and talk about food. So, there is no surprise this year we decided to do a food tour with Up Close and Local Tours for our 2019 Christmas Party.

We share a love for sticky, messy barbecue meats. So we got our stomachs prepared for one hell of a feast across 4 food and drink stops.

Our first food stop was at Side Door BBQ in Highgate. What a great first stop! We devoured brisket, pulled pork, corn bread and BBQ beans among our tables. We shared some delicious jugs of drinks to quench our thirst before moving on to the next stop. The most loved flavour among our team was the Y’all American Lemonade. Highly recommend!

Who doesn’t love sticky BBQ pork ribs? We were over the moon to head to Porkies BBQ in Bayswater to delight our palettes with deep fried mac and cheese, pork ribs, beef brisket and coleslaw. After stuffing our bellies with so much food, we went behind the scenes and checked out Porkies BBQ special spices and cooking methods to creating those mouth watering pork ribs.

By this point, the food coma really started to settle in. It’s fair to say some of us started rolling out of there.

It was such a hot day for our Christmas Party… 40 degrees! We took a break from eating and had a relaxing stop at Mechanics Institute Bar in Northbridge, enjoying their house cocktail- The Hillbilly Bob’s Ruckus Juice. It was a refreshing blend of lager, fresh lime juice, orgeat, spiced rum and ginger beer. Delish!

The hot weather and our dessert cravings lead us to Whisk Creamery in Northbridge, the final stop of our food tour. From vanilla soft serves with one topping to a salted caramel croinut sandwich and mermaid taiyaki, everyone stuffed their faces with one last filling treat. And it was delicious!

Even though all the food we ate was delicious, the best part of our Christmas Party was celebrating it altogether. Because of the type of work we do, we don’t get to see everyone in the team at the same time. We loved coming together, celebrating Christmas as a team and celebrating an amazing 2019.

This year’s Christmas party has set the bar high. I wonder if we can top it next year?

Enjoy all your Christmas celebrations and have a wonderful and safe New Year :)
